Il Cagliari ha cambiato obiettivo per il rinforzo d'attacco. In cima alla lista non c'è più Manolo Gabbiadini, della Sampdoria, ma Okereke, reduce anche lui dalla retrocessione in Serie B, ma con la maglia della Cremonese. Il tecnico Claudio Ranieri ha dato l'ok. Okereke ha due vantaggi rispetto a Gabbiadini: ha sei anni in meno e il costo è inferiore al giocatore blucerchiato.
